A Fabulous Weekend in Vegas and Books That Keep Traveling

This first weekend of February was absolutely magical! I spent it in Las Vegas with some of our high school friends, and though Laura wasn’t physically there, she was very much with all of us in spirit. We laughed, reminisced, and made new memories that I’ll cherish forever. One of the highlights? Seeing The Wizard at the Sphere—it was immersive and breathtaking. And in a sweet twist of serendipity, I even “caught an apple”… a moment that felt like Laura herself made sure I got it.

We also dove into art at the museum, wandered the streets and alleys, and enjoyed time together over delicious meals. Every step of the weekend reminded me how much Laura would have loved it all—the movie, the food, the walking, the art, and most of all, the laughter and connection we shared.

Beyond the fun and sights, the real magic was reconnecting with lifelong friends—people who have known you through different chapters of life. Those connections remind me of the enduring power of friendship, the joy of shared memories, and how important it is to nurture these bonds, even as life changes and friends are no longer with us.

Of course, I kept up my Books That Travel the World mission. So far, our books have been discovered in 18 countries and 16 states! It’s incredible to think of all the hands they’ve passed through and the journeys they’ve had. Every time I leave a book somewhere new, it feels like sharing a little piece of joy and adventure—just like the weekend we had.

Here’s to more travels, more books, and more moments that connect us to each other—no matter where in the world we are. Let’s keep these stories moving, carrying the spirit of Laura and all the friends who make life richer along the way.
