When I say Laura loved Harry Potter, I mean she loved Harry Potter. It was more than just a story to her—it was an adventure she fully embraced. I had the chance to experience part of that love firsthand when Casey (my son), Laura, and I went to Universal Studios in California. We immersed ourselves in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where Laura and Casey rode all the rides with excitement while I happily cheered from the sidelines (the broomstick ride didn’t agree with me!). We indulged in butterbeer and, with Laura’s expert help, Casey found the perfect wand to take home as a magical souvenir.
Laura's love for the wizarding world didn't stop there. Last September, she had the opportunity to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London with her mom and sister. From what she shared with me, it was a day filled with wonder and joy—a true highlight of her trip. For Laura, these books weren’t just stories—they were filled with characters and places that became a part of her life, and she treasured them deeply.
Laura always found joy in even the smallest magical moments—whether it was sipping a London Fog at Starbucks or reminiscing about her favorite chapters in Harry Potter. That’s why I’m so excited to share her love with others through my 'Books that travel the world' initiative.
Because of how much Harry Potter meant to Laura, I’ve decided to make the books part of this initiative. These books are filled with magic, friendship, and adventure—themes that reflect the best parts of Laura’s spirit. But I need your help! Where should I leave the Harry Potter books? A place with a touch of magic, perhaps? Somewhere that will spark joy in the heart of a fellow traveler? I’d love to hear your suggestions!
Where Should the Next Book Go?
To make this even more special, I’d love for all of you to help me decide. Should I leave the first Harry Potter book at a local library, a train station, or perhaps a cozy café that Laura would’ve loved? You can also share your favorite Harry Potter moments or suggest a magical spot where you think a Harry Potter book would bring a little joy to someone’s day.
Stay tuned! I’ll be leaving the first Harry Potter book at a special location soon and will post an update with a photo. Where will it go next? I can't wait to share this journey with you all, one book at a time.
